Nintendo is feeling the heat as 2.2 million fans in Japan rush to pre-order the Switch 2, far outpacing what they can supply. With a lottery system to determine who gets a console, many will be left disappointed. Although the company plans to ramp up production and allow more pre-orders through retailers, they can’t promise everyone will get one. The Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5 for $449.99, while U.S. customers can expect pre-order invites starting May 8, 2025, sparking worries about similar shortages stateside.
