Take-Two's hopes to bring back the NFL 2K series have hit a snag. CEO Strauss Zelnick mentioned that creative issues prevented the development of a new game. Originally announced six years ago, the project aimed to create non-simulation titles that could compete with Madden, but the mobile game NFL 2K Playmakers didn’t perform well and was discontinued.
Zelnick remains open to exploring the NFL franchise again if the right chance comes along, but he’s ruled out reviving MLB 2K due to past losses and a smaller audience for baseball games. Fans of the classic NFL 2K games, once celebrated for their fun gameplay and style, will have to stay patient as Take-Two reassesses its sports gaming plans. What do you think Take-Two should do next with the NFL franchise?
