Sega is gearing up for Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary with a special cartridge collection. The Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis/Mega Drive Anniversary Legacy Cartridge Collection will feature translucent cartridges for the original games and a rare “Chaos Emerald” edition. Pre-orders are available now, with shipments starting later this year.
Additionally, Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, complete with improved graphics and all previous content. Two collections, the Classic and Modern Sonic Collections, will also launch in October. The celebration includes digital content, fan events, and a new narrative podcast.
