Warner Bros. just dropped the news that Mortal Kombat 1 won’t get any new characters or story chapters after the T-1000 guest character arrives in March 2025. Despite hitting 5 million sales and being part of a 100 million franchise total, it hasn’t quite matched the success of MK11. Fans are feeling let down, especially after promises of ongoing support, as developers shift focus to future projects like Injustice 3. A sequel movie is also in the works, so the franchise isn’t going anywhere, but it’s a tough pill for players to swallow.
