Microsoft has made the original Zork trilogy open source under an MIT License. This move follows their acquisition of Activision, which held the Zork IP after buying Infocom in the 1980s. With help from digital archivist Jason Scott, this effort aims to preserve gaming history. It opens the door for new takes on the classic text adventure.
