Steve Papoutsis, previously CEO of Striking Distance Studios, is now leading Unknown Worlds following the exit of co-founders Ted Gill, Charlie Cleveland, and Max McGuire. Krafton hasn’t given specifics on the leadership shakeup but emphasizes their commitment to the Subnautica franchise’s vision. Papoutsis is focused on accelerating development and improving player experiences. The upcoming Subnautica 2 will feature multiplayer for up to four players and a new planet to explore. While the release is set for 2025 on PC and Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass users can also look forward to diving in.
