Marvel Games has made it clear that its partnership with Insomniac Games — the studio behind the hit Spider-Man series — is here to stay. Speaking with Game Informer, Marvel Games’ general manager Haluk Mentes confirmed that the companies will continue working together “for many years to come,” suggesting that Wolverine won’t be the last Marvel title from the studio.
Insomniac is currently developing its fourth Marvel game, Marvel’s Wolverine, set to launch exclusively on PS5 in Fall 2026. The studio previously delivered Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Spider-Man 2, all praised for their storytelling and gameplay.
Mentes explained that Marvel’s goal is to pass its creative legacy to the next generation of developers, describing its partnerships as long-term collaborations built on shared values and trust. “Once we complete a project together, they become part of the Marvel family,” he said, citing Insomniac as the best example of that philosophy.
He added that Marvel and Insomniac have been collaborating for over a decade and have developed a strong creative shorthand across multiple projects. That bond, he said, made Insomniac the “obvious choice” to bring Logan (Wolverine) to life in a “spectacular and visceral fashion.”
As for what’s next, reports suggest that Insomniac could follow up Wolverine with a Venom spin-off, building on the fan-favorite sequences from Spider-Man 2. While nothing has been confirmed yet, Marvel’s comments all but guarantee that Insomniac’s time with the Marvel universe is far from over.
It’s safe to say that Marvel and Insomniac’s collaboration isn’t just a phase — it’s a full-blown era.
