Wizards of the Coast has rolled out Project Sigil, a new virtual tabletop designed to elevate the Dungeons & Dragons experience. Currently in testing, it features a 3D map creator and automated combat soundtracks, offering an appealing visual style. However, its dependence on D&D Beyond complicates character management, requiring cumbersome copy-and-paste methods. With restrictions on custom miniatures and asset creation, Sigil seems best suited for casual games rather than intricate campaigns. While it adds flair for D&D Beyond users, it may not entice dedicated players away from established options like Roll20 or Foundry.
