Square Enix is set to launch a new version of Final Fantasy VII on Steam, breaking the region-locking that has kept Japanese players from accessing it. This update will replace the 2013 PC port, and while it’s unclear what changes will be made, enhancements are expected. Current owners will get the upgrade for free, but save files won’t carry over.
